Nonprofit Impact

Providing the tools for Mississippi nonprofits to thrive

AbOUT

As a passionate advocate for positive change with over 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, I'm dedicated to helping small to medium-sized nonprofits in Mississippi overcome challenges and achieve their goals. From my work as the Executive Director of the Tutwiler Community Education Center to my successful tenures at the East Harlem School at Exodus House and the Boys & Girls Harbor, I've honed my skills in fundraising, strategic planning, and community empowerment.

My journey in the nonprofit sector began as a co-founder and Executive Director of the East Harlem School at Exodus House, where I grew the organization from $50k to a seven-figure reserve. I then served as the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Harbor, leading a team of 350 employees and eliminating a seven-figure deficit within my first two years. As the former Executive Director of the Tutwiler Community Education Center, I spearheaded initiatives to address food insecurity, provide educational opportunities, and foster community revitalization in the Mississippi Delta.

With a diverse background that includes a Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law, a BA from Princeton University, and various certifications in areas such as permaculture design, breathwork coaching, and trauma-informed care, I bring a unique and holistic perspective to my work with nonprofits.

I'm the recipient of the Robin Hood Heroes Award, the Essence Magazine Award, and the semifinalist award from the Yass Prize for education innovation.
